Development and Connections

Manukau is New Zealand’s third largest city. It is expected to become the second largest city by around 2016 and is currently the fastest growing city in New Zealand.

Manukau Water Limited owns, operates and maintains the water and wastewater networks in the urban area of Manukau and the wastewater network and wastewater treatment plant serving the Beachlands and Maraetai communities. We also operate and maintain the stormwater system on behalf of Manukau City Council.

For public health and safety all development and connections to our water and wastewater networks and to Manukau City Council’s stormwater network must be approved by us.

The procedure to be followed and application forms can be downloaded from this section.

Additions to our water and wastewater networks must be in accordance with Manukau Water Standards.
